What's Happening
The “How Sweet It Is Scholarship Tour” will be traveling around the state of Kentucky for its fifth consecutive year in 2008.
The National City Trophy Tour provides students and fans with a chance to see the “big trophy”, as well as offering high school seniors a chance to win.
Senior student-athletes can enter to win one of 32 one-time $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to 16 boys and 16 girls throughout the Commonwealth during the Boys’ National City/KHSAA Sweet 16 Basketball Tournament in March.

The National City Trophy Tour provides students and fans with a chance to see the “big trophy”, as well as offering high school seniors a chance to win one of 32 one-time $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to 16 boys and 16 girls throughout the Commonwealth during the Boys’ National City/KHSAA Sweet 16 Basketball Tournament in March.
One boy and one girl from each of Kentucky’s 16 regions will receive a scholarship. This scholarship award is open to any senior student-athlete in Kentucky. Scholarships will be based on excellence in four areas-Academic Achievement, Leadership, Citizenship and Sportsmanship.
Trophy will be on display with scholarships at school gymnasium lobby of each game.
Tour stops for the 2008 Trophy Tour:
[01/15] Region 9: At Covington Holmes - Covington Catholic vs. Covington Holmes. Top two teams in 9th region face off for region bragging rights.
[01/18] Region 4: At Bowling Green - Bowling Green vs. Greenwood. Heated rivalry in the 4th region.
[01/22] Region 3: At Owensboro Apollo - Apollo vs. Owensboro. One of the best rivalries in the state, top 2 teams in their region, multiple state championships and championship appearances.
[01/25] Region 11: At Lexington Bryan Station - Bryan Station vs. Tates Creek. BIG city rivals, district rivals, 2 of the top teams in the 11th region. #1 vs. #25 in Dave Cantrall's state rankings. Great atmosphere!! Multiple state championship and semi-final appearances.
[02/1] Region 7: At Louisville Eastern - Eastern Vs. Ballard. Former state champions play in big game in Louisville!!
[02/9] Region 12: At Boyle Co. - Boyle County vs. Danville. HUGE Cross City-County Rivalry!!!
[02/11] Region 16: At Ashland - Ashland vs. Rose Hill. FIERCE rivals. 2 of the 3 tops teams in the 16th region. Rose Hill with 1, possible 2 UK recruits. Ashland former state champion, as well as state runner up.
